In early 1992, MagickMama, Donna Andersen decided she had had enough. She told her husband, Mark, that every
soap she tried left her skin dry and itchy. Unsure of what he could do to help treat her condition, Mark let the
subject alone. Some time later, he stumbled upon an old volume of herbal remedies, which contained a basic recipe
for castile soap. After several months of trial and error, Mark and Donna produced their first bar of handmade
soap - Honey, Milk and Rose. Thus, Goddessy was founded out of the need for a good, moisturizing soap.
After finding out about the Andersen's success in making that first bar, friends and neighbors began to purchase
the soap for personal use, and for gifts. Soon after, the decision was made to invite a few local stores to carry
the line, and the orders began to filter in.
The need for a greater variety of soaps became obvious as more orders came in. In early 1997, Chamomile and
Honey was introduced, which remained the best seller until the creation of Indonesian Lemongrass with Wild Ginger
Root. In 1998 handmade wooden soap dishes made from recycled wood, a custom line of hemp wash cloths and bath towels,
new line of vegetable glycerin soaps and Natural Aloe and Comfrey lotion and bath gel were introduced and are today
doing extremely well. In 1999 the "Dollar Bill Soap" was added as a unique gift- type soap. This year,
we’ve added Dead Sea bath salts in assorted scents; children’s soaps, which are vegetable glycerin and have toys
in their centers, and hand - rolled incense, along with various other novelty soaps.
Goddessy is owned by Mark Andersen. His wife Donna (AKA MagickMama) formulates the soaps and other body products.
There are now 54 types of soaps made.
The philosophy of Goddessy is to produce high quality, natural bath products in a relaxed work atmosphere. We
make a particular point of impacting the natural environment as little as possible. Soap making is a fun and personally
rewarding business.
Thank you for your interest our products and remember to re-use, re-cycle and re-place. Help keep our world
green.
